Many of our fly fishing takes place while floating down the AuSable in a drift boat. There are numerous docks on the river's edge, some of which look like they have been around for a hundred years. Almost every one of these docks is home to a family of these exceptionally large, black beauties that you can see a hundred yards away. Apparently, every once in a while, these guys fall in the river, and the trout sure seem to notice. I've had a lot of fun with this overgrown ant cast tight to the lumber on hot, sunny days - give it a try!
